In Pangeran Hotel Beach Padang, West Sumatera by spending three days 10-12 October 2008. The Vice Precident Jusuf Kalla was opened at the second day. This event is already held twice, first in 2007 in Bumiminang Hotel. It was attended about more than 300 members and some ministers, great honor businessman who has the “minang’s blood”. They did awesome journey even inside West Sumatera, Indonesia overall and go abroad. Giving their best and valuable dedication to its country. Through this event all “perantau minang” are meet together in terms of missing, reunion, even business. There are three main of committees in heading the events, they are committees from Jakarta, west Sumatera, and Andalas University Committees. Sure, I’m the one of UNAND’s committee.
UNAND’s committee was around 85 persons; include the coordinator, steering committee, and members of each division. I was in “Perlengkapan Division”. In 2007, Perlengkapan Divison was only content of male, for this 2008 year there were three female, Eka Parisia, Yurma Irpa, and Lila Aulia.
We start to go and back to Pangeran Hotel almost every day before the event take place. I was feeling so forced to leave my main college, it were the days before midterm examination. Here, we will meet with new people and known people of course. Fortunately, along the events I’m with my best friend Merza Zul Armi. So it is not really feels alone doing anything, go anywhere in terms of our duty as committee. Even though we were not in the same division, Merza was in “Acara Division”. The day before 10th October were so tired and busy days!!
I choose not to back to “kozt” during the main three days. It is already available rooms in the hotel for committee who want to take a rest there. Imagine that, we have to already attend at 8.a.m and doing the job until 9.p.m but there is “relaxing and rest time of course”! I still remember how mess my bed rooms when I have to go and back Pangeran Hotel to “Kozt” and then “Kozt” to Pangeran Hotel.
That is what I’m talking about! It does not matter how much energy and how tired you were doing all of those stuff in “ Perlengkapan Room” there is always something, even many things that keeping us feels happy, satisfied, and passion. It is true that the first and second day of that event were the busiest days. The most I regret was why I did not know about taking a picture of Vice Presidents Coming!? It must be because crew of “Perlengkapan” were so busy to take care in preparation of event kits, coordination with “Registration Division”, photocopy, less here part, fix those parts… oh what a crowded place!
In certain time, all of committees are allowed to follow many DOOR PRIZE event held by some great companies, like Bakrie. Ohh… some of crew got cell phone and another interesting merchandise that I bet it must be hard to find in free market… nice !
The last day was closing day, attended by Basrizal Koto the founded of Basko Grand Mall, the well known Mall in Padang City and still another great businessman. They gave us story about their life journey; it was fantastic, unbelievable, and so pure. And this was the time to consider whether SSM will continue in the next year or not. The conclusion was there will be SSM for the next 2009 year. But, after that it will be held once every two years. The reason was “longer we did not meet, more badly our missing feeling”… hemmm quite logic and rational reason.

It is just a night after the event getting done well. We meet together again, as a shape of appreciation of all committee work. It feels “horraaaayyyy”!! In Rumah Makan of SEDERHANA. Nice place to celebrate our job well. The more attracting things here the SUMBAR’s committees provide 10 awesome DOORPRIZE that will get through raffle, based on the number of attendance lists.
I still remember the door prize: catchy watch, Alfa Link calculator, printer, cell phone, CANON Digital Camera.
