“Reconstruction of Economy System to Support Indonesia’s Competitive Advantage after Global Economy Crisis”

It is an event that usually held by the entire of Economy Degree all over Indonesia University College, Public and Private College involved. It is not held constantly for each year. It held every three years since 1955. The last was held in Manado, and attended by President Mr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Vice President Mr. Jusuf Kalla . And for this 2009 is held in Bukittinggi, Padang West Sumatera, the main events are held in three days 30, 31 July, and 1 August. Most of the important person in this country are attended this events.
System economy in Indonesia is been arranged which aforesaid article 33, Undang-Undang Dasar 1945. It is consists of 5 verses, the main fourth verses explain about the main element of economy system, and the last verse about more further regulation in its application. In many occasions, ISEI clearly declare that it is really necessary to arrange UU that concern about Indonesia economy system, in order to complete the mandate of article 33 UUD 1945 which already be amendment.
ISEI notes that in recently situation, it has been built a bulky effort to arrange a design of UU which named RUU Demokrasi Ekonomi. This UU arrangement has important strategic meaning for Indonesia’s economic world. Based on this meaningful of strategic important, so ISEI decides to take this topic as the main theme on National Seminar which held in ISEI KONGRES XVII.

Presences in the seminar are Prof. Dorodjatun Koentjoro Jakti, Prof. Emil Salim, Edi Swasono etc.
Dorodjatun Koentjoro Jakti speech was about government fail, following in detail:
“It’s been along five president time I’ve worked, but there is no one of them who bring the proper economy system. For this my judgment, I’d like to apologize to them”, said professorship of Economy Faculty Indonesia University, Prof. Dr. Dorodjatun Koentjorojakti, after ISEI XVII congress, Friday, 31th August.
“Indicator of government disability in controlling the market has been seen clearly. Like uncontrolled of inflation, rate of Rupiah is often down, the disappearances of product from market, and stagnation of all economy institute as effect of the dry of liquidity” he added.
He expressed, the effect of the weakness of those economies planning, this country only has stock operational for only 28 days. Of course it is very dangers, considering Indonesia is a big nation with 230 million people in it.
“What if there is happen any kind of turbulence or war and it take keep continued. Sure, it will cause to people in society is will be hard to find food and the mobility of security apparatus will be disturbed because of the limitation of energy stock”, explained ex-minister of economy coordinator period 2001-2004.
Further Dorodjatun explained that this day Indonesia is facing strategic problem arise in group of rill sector. Particularly in agriculture sector, especially subsector of food agriculture and industry sector of manufacture.
“That subsector of food agriculture, Java and outside of Java, facing difficulties in increasing the productivity. It is because of decreasing of farmland as result of the city area spreading “he added.
Other side, Indonesia also facing problem in industrialization. On account of, industry manufacture sector is defeated by the market, especially by China, India and country of ANIEs (Asian Newly Industrialized Economies) Group, such as South of Korea, Taiwan, Hongkong, Thailand and Malaysia.
“Because of that, it is proper if this country has an institutional that its function to stabilize the market condition. In order to lose any kind of monopoly in economy sector that only will make nation and people become unprofitable” he stressed.
If it does not be done, the black market, such of terrible things that will break the market system, will keep arise. So does in cases of illegal logging, “maining” and fishing will spreading, cannot be prevented and hard to be controlled.
“Therefore, government must build the strong position of competitiveness, and fixing all levels in life of nation and country. Start from level of normative, structural, behavior, and more realistic of standpoint. In hopes, avoiding the failed state of this country, the things that have been worried by many observer in overseas” his hopes.
